A tasty change from regular dumplings are savory pancake dumplings. The outside is crunchy, and the inside is full of a tasty mix of cabbage, scallions, and either ground pork or tofu. Great as a snack or first course.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup finely chopped cabbage
- 1/4 cup chopped scallions
- 1/4 cup ground pork or tofu for a vegetarian option
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
Mix flour and water together in a bowl until you get a smooth batter
Soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, black pepper, ground pork or tofu, and cabbage should all be mixed in
Combine well
Put oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat
Put some of the batter into the hot pan and use it to make small dumplings that look like pancakes
Once the bottom is golden brown, flip it over and cook the other side until its crispy
Take the dumplings out of the pan and lay them on paper towels to soak up any extra oil
Serve hot with the sauce of your choice
