Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnuts

The warm and comforting flavors of pumpkin spice are captured in these delicious pumpkin spice cake doughnuts, making them a delightful fall treat. Crisp autumn mornings are ideal for enjoying these moist and tender treats with a cup of tea or coffee.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for glaze
  • 2 tbsp milk for glaze
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice for glaze

Instructions:

Grease a doughnut pan and preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit 175 degrees Celsius

Pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract should all be combined in a mixing bowl

Blend thoroughly

Mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and spices ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a separate bowl

Until the batter is thoroughly mixed, gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk

Pour the batter into each of the doughnut pans cavities, filling them about two thirds of the way

When a toothpick is inserted into a doughnut, it should come out clean after baking for 12 to 15 minutes in a preheated oven

After letting the doughnuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, move them to a wire rack to finish cooling

To make the glaze, combine the milk, pumpkin pie spice, and powdered sugar in a small bowl

After cooling, dip each doughnut into the glaze and allow any extra to fall off

To solidify the glaze, put the glazed doughnuts back on the wire rack
